Synopsis
15-year-old Ikeuchi Aya was an ordinary girl, the daughter of a family who works at a tofu shop, and a soon-to-be high schooler. However, odd things have been happening to Aya lately. She has been falling down often and walks strange. Her mother, Shioka, takes Aya to see the doctor, and he informs Shioka that Aya has spinocerebellar degeneration – a terrible disease where the cerebellum of the brain gradually deteriorates to the point where the victim cannot walk, speak, write, or eat. A cruel disease, as it does not affect the mind in the least. How will Aya react when told about her disease? And how will Aya live from now on?
“Một lít nước mắt” hay còn gọi là Nhật kí nước mắt là loạt phim truyền hình Nhật Bản trên kênh Fuji, kể về một cô gái mắc phải một căn bệnh thoái hóa lúc còn rất trẻ (chỉ mới 15 tuổi) nhưng bằng nỗ lực phi thường, cô vẫn cố gắng sống tốt đến ngày qua đời vào năm 25 tuổi.
Bộ phim được xây dựng dựa trên một câu chuyện có thật từ quyển nhật kí của Kito Aya, vốn bị phải căn bệnh hiểm nghèo Spinocerebellar ataxia. Quyển nhật kí với lời tựa “Một lít nước mắt”– vốn do bác sĩ chăm sóc cô đề xuất để tiện việc theo dõi tiến trình của căn bệnh – được cô viết cho đến khi cơ thể cô bị liệt hoàn toàn, sau đó được xuất bản không lâu trước khi Aya qua đời.
